Ompelimo Kusnisew

I am a young designer focusing on creating versatile and functional garments using already used materials if possible. In June 2025 I graduated from HAMK Smart and Sustainable Fashion program and although my journey as a fashion designer just starts,  I take every challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow. I like to improvise, play with possibilities and sketch just with ordinary pencil on paper during my design process. My strengths are more in craftsmanship and technical side of designing and I have an eye for details in it. I stick with saying less is more.

Bringing old things back to life is my passion and it feels rewarding for me to see how things change into something new. That is one of the reasons Ompelimo Kusnisew was established. I am here to bring your old clothes back to life and I am so excited about this journey! I am hoping that through Kusnisew I will be able to educate and motivate my customers to live more sustainable life.

Everyone in need of repair of their clothes or other fabric-related projects is welcomed in my studio! My Finnish language is still in process of learning so it is not the best (please try to understand) but other than that I speak English and Slovak as well!
